Nestlé Startup Program is born within the “Nestlé needs YOUth” project, a global Nestlé initiative that aims to help 10 million young people to have access to economic opportunities by 2030 through projects such as the Nestlé Startup Program, which provides startups and young entrepreneurs the tools and skills to transform their ideas into projects.
New methodologies and technologies for quantifying ecosystem services generated by good agricultural practices, such as the increase of organic matter in the soil, the increase in the biodiversity rate and the regeneration of the reference ecosystem.
Innovative solutions that use a series of technologies such as GPS services, sensors and big data to optimize crop yield, and generate decision support systems within the crop production cycle. These technologies are able to collect and process data in real time and have the ability to provide predictive or real-time information regarding all aspects of cultivation.
It includes all monitoring systems for optimizing water resources, planning irrigation activities, and/or innovative fertigation systems for the distribution of fertilizers along with irrigation water.
Will be able to participate: consolidated teams of passionate and capable individuals who believe in forward-looking and planet-saving solutions for the food system, already formed innovative startups, as well as research projects from universities and private or public research centers will be able to participate.
It is necessary that your team is composed mainly of individuals under 30,your solution can be applied to the tomato supply chain, you have well-defined and measurable KPIs and the aspiration to be scalable internationally.
All applications will be analysed and we'll select the 15 teams that will have access to the R&D Training held by the Future Food Institute.
The selected teams will participate in the training program held by the Future Food Institute lasting 4 weeks in system-thinking, lean methodology and Prosperity Thinking, after which 3 teams will be selected to participate in the next phase.
The 3 selected teams will be put in direct contact with Nestlé's tomato suppliers and will work on the field side by side with Nestlé's mentors and Future Food's innovation coach to implement and test their project in a real environment.
The three teams will participate in a final Boot Camp where they will present the results achieved and will work on the actual implementation of their project.
Thanks to the experience of Future Food Institute, ecosystem professionals, as well as Nestlé and its supplier in the tomato supply chain, Steriltom, the selected teams will be supported in the implementation of the project.
The fifteen teams selected in the first phase will be able totake part in the R&D training of Future Food Institute by acquiring the tools to quickly prototype their solution.
The selected teams will benefit from a media opportunity through interviews, articles and communications on social media.
The three selected teams will be able to access the facilities to test their solution in the field with potential users and have a direct relationship with the farmers.
The three selected teams will gain experience in working with large CPG companies to solve real-world challenges in the food space and connect directly with important stakeholders.
